This week I made these sandwiches and they were delicious! The recipe for this tuna salad is creamy and has a secret ingredient: a little soy sauce.

The other secret is to use a tuna that has a delicate flavor, like the one we show you in the video we already shared on IG.

Makes 2 servings

Ingredients:
2 -84 gm cans of tuna fillets, drained
¼ cup finely diced onion
¼ cup finely diced celery
½ tablespoon soy sauce
½ cup mayonnaise
juice of half a lime, or to taste
salt and pepper to taste
Bread of choice (buns or sliced)
Edam cheese slices
Butter lettuce
sliced seedless cucumber

Instructions:

  1. Drain the tuna cans of their liquid as much as possible.
  2. Place the tuna, celery, and onion into a large bowl. Add the mayonnaise, soy sauce, lime juice and salt and pepper.  This is best if left in the refrigerator overnight, or at least a few hours.
  3. Strain the tuna of any water that may have accumulated. Add more mayo as required and serve.
  4. To assemble your sandwiches, add butter lettuce, cheese slices, tuna and sliced cucumber to the bottom of your bread of choice. Top with the other half and enjoy!
