Butter Crab

This post is also available in / Esta entrada también está disponible en ESPAÑOL (SPANISH)

We used imitation crab to make this recipe, its sweet and salty flavor along with the spices, butter, garlic and a good splash of lime juice make it a perfect dish for rushed days or weekends when we don’t want to spend so much time in the kitchen.

Butter Crab

I served it over white rice with chopped parsley as a garnish, and some lemon wedges. Not a single piece was left when I served this at home!

Butter Crab

Makes 4 servings

Ingredients:
5 tablespoon Butter, divided
1 tbs olive oil
1 ½ lb Imitation Crab Meat
3 clove Garlic, minced
1 small white onion, finely diced
1 celery stalk, finely said
lime or lemon juice from 1 citrus
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp fine salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
½ tsp chili powder
Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Directions:

  1. Preheat a large frying pan over medium heat. Add 4 tablespoons of the butter together with the olive oil and let it melt.
  2. Add the chopped onion and celery, cook for about 3-4 minutes. Add the spices and mix well. Add the garlic and let it cook for 1 minute. Finally, add the crab meat tossing gently until all the crab is coated in the garlic, butter and spices and it smells very fragrant.
  3. Add the remaining tablespoon of butter and lemon or lime juice. Toss until melted and incorporated. Serve up the garlic sautéed crab right away while it’s hot over cooked white rice and sprinkle with chopped parsley. Serve with lime or lemon wedges.
