Sunset Rose Cocktail

Its color, the ingredients, its flavor. This cocktail seemed ideal for a special celebration, and we want to show you how to prepare it at home now that Valentine’s Day is around the corner. How about for Galentine’s night?

You will need fresh raspberries, which we will use to make the base of this cocktail. Muddle them together with honey syrup, lemon juice, and a little vodka. We chose Ketel One Vodka because its flavor is very clean and it has a silky texture on the palate. If you can’t find raspberries, blackberries will work just as well.

Whispering Angel Sunset Rose

The final touch is a Whispering Angel rosé wine top-up, this wine is in the dry category but retains sweetness with fruity and floral aromas and notes. It is one of our favorite rosés.

The honey syrup is straightforward to make, you can prepare it by the cup and it keeps in the fridge for up to a week. Mix equal parts of honey and water in a small saucepan and mix just until hot, so it is well incorporated. It should not come to a boil.  Let it cool down before using it in your cocktails. We used one teaspoon of honey syrup for this cocktail, but you can add more to your taste.

Sunset Rose Cocktail

Makes 1 drink

Ingredients:
3oz Whispering Angel
1.5 oz Ketel One Vodka
½ ounce lemon juice
1 tsp honey syrup
3 to 4 fresh large raspberries
mint leaves to decorate

Preparation:

  1. Muddle the raspberries in a shaker glass, using a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon.
  2. Add the Ketel One vodka, lemon juice, and honey syrup. Shake with ice for about 15 seconds and double strain into a rock glass filled with ice.
  3. Pour in the 3 ounces of Whispering Angel rosé as a final touch, and garnish with mint leaves.
