Air Fryer Crab Rangoon

Rangoons are Asian appetizers that resemble wontons. You can buy the wonton pastry at the store and use them to wrap up delicious fillings. We made a spicy crab filling for our rangoons that pairs wonderfully with Chandon Garden Spritz.
This sparkling wine has notes of bitter orange which derive from natural flavors, you can learn all about it and how to make a simple cocktail using Chandon Garden Spritz here.
Because of its tasting notes, it pairs very well with Asian foods such as sushi or sashimi, as well as spicy dishes such as this one.
Making them is easy! Just cut each wonton dough wrapper into four so you get bite size rangoons. Then mix the filling ingredients and use a little less than a tablespoon full to fill each wrapper. Pot them into the air fryer for about 6 minutes per batch, and you are set.
The dipping sauce is simple and delicious, and you only need a few ingredients such as soy sauce and the chili flake mixture.
This is a great recipe for your holiday or New Year’s party! We hope you try it, you will love it!

Air Friyer Crab Rangoon
Recipe adapted from Simply Recipes
Ingredients, for the rangoon:
15 square wonton wrappers
4-oz. cream cheese, at room temperature
3-oz. lump crab meat or imitation crab
1 tablespoon scallions
1 teaspoon soy sauce
salt and pepper, to taste
Nonstick spray, for the air fryer
Ingredients, for the dipping sauce:
¼ cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions:
- First, chop the crab and scallions into small pieces, almost minced. Add the cream cheese, soy sauce, salt, and pepper to a bowl. Mix until all the ingredients are evenly distributed.
- Working with one wonton wrapper at a time, cut it into 4 smaller squares. Add about 2 teaspoons of filling into the center, and using your finger, brush the edges with warm water, and crimp the corners, meeting them in the center to form each dumpling. Press as much air out of the dumpling as possible, and seal them as tight as you can. Make the rest of the dumpings, until ready to serve.
- Spray the air fryer basket with nonstick spray, and place as many dumplings as you can without them touching each other. Air fry the dumplings at 350ºF/175C for 6 minutes until they are crispy and golden brown.
- While the dumplings cook, make the dipping sauce by mixing all the ingredients together.
- Remove the dumplings from the air fryer, letting them cool briefly, and serve with the dipping sauce and pair with Chandon Garden Spritz.
