Happy Hour: Apple Ginger Mule
This post is also available in / Esta entrada también está disponible en ESPAÑOL (SPANISH)
A twist on the classic Moscow Mule, with the warmer flavors that we like to enjoy at this time of year, apples, spices.
For this version, we used Ketel One vodka, and ginger beer as a base with the variation of adding apple juice (not nectar), we chose one that had some acidity to it and was not so sweet. The original recipe is prepared with apple butter, but you can substitute it without problem for applesauce. The recipe calls for grated fresh ginger, this ingredient gives it a delicious spicy touch, you can use between 1 to 2 teaspoons for each cocktail, we lean towards using 2 teaspoons to give it more flavor.
Ketel One Vodka can be found at Vinoteca stores.
Ginger beer has a natural ginger flavor, which is stronger and less sweet if compared to ginger ale. We always keep some at the house to prepare drinks like Kentucky Mule or Ginger Orchard.
