Cream Cheese Spread, 3 Ways

The end-of-year holidays officially start this weekend. We like to think that Thanksgiving is the green light on all things holidays! So, its esencial that you are ready for your guests with this versatile spread. With a simple base (cream cheese, greek yogurt and milk), we can have an delicious and infinite combinations that will brighten your appetizer table.
We chose three different flavors so its easy for you to prep. You can even get some store-bought pesto, and get a head start when preparing the recipes. Choose a brand of pesto (sun-dried tomatoes) that you like, as they are what five the spread its flavor. At Almacenes Siman we got a gorgeous set of poinsettia placemats, that will dress up your table for your guests.
The best thing about this recipe, is that you can make them ahead the night before and have them already set up for your guests. Just store in airtight containers and you’ll be ready. And, if you want to serve the three spreads on your next gathering, we strongly recommend you get different types of crackers. We also found a set of bowls (available at Almacenes Siman in sets of three or four bowls), and a set of Christmas coasters that doubled as small dishes.

Chive and Cream Cheese Spread
Ingredients:
8-oz. soft cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons greek yogurt
1 tablespoon milk
½ tablespoon finely minced white onion
1 tablespoon chopped chives
salt and pepper to taste
Preparation:
- In a medium-sized bowl, using a hand mixer combine the cream cheese, milk and yogurt.
- In a small skillet, cook the white onion.
- Add the onion, chives, salt and pepper and mix until completely combined, using a spatula.
- Transfer to a container and serve, or refrigerate overnight if making ahead.
Sun-dried Tomato and Cream Cheese Spread
Ingredients:
8-oz. soft cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoon of greek yogurt
1 tablespoon milk
6 sun-dried tomatoes in oil, chopped
½ garlic clove, finely minced
¼ teaspoon dried basil
salt and pepper to taste
Preparation:
- In a medium-sized bowl, using a hand mixer combine the cream cheese, milk and yogurt.
- In a small skillet, cook the white onion.
- Add the chopped sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, basil salt and pepper, and combine using a spatula.
- Transfer to a container and serve, or refrigerate overnight if making ahead.
Pesto and Cream Cheese Spread
Ingredients:
8-oz. soft cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoon of greek yogurt
1 tablespoon milk
⅛ cup pesto
salt and pepper to taste
- In a medium-sized bowl, using a hand mixer combine the cream cheese, milk and yogurt.
- Add the pesto, salt and pepper, and combine using a spatula.
- Transfer to a container and serve, or refrigerate overnight if making ahead.
