Kids’ lunch boxes can become monotonous not only for our kids, but also for us moms who have to prepare them!
The simplest and healthiest meals will look extra yummy if you pack them in eye catching colorful containers. Variety can be as simple as changing the bread you use, think beyond sliced bread and use flour tortillas, bagels, muffins, small baguette breads, pita bread, and even waffles.

Fish Shape Lunch
Fish-shaped tuna sandwich with lettuce on whole wheat bread
10 baby carrots with 2 tablespoons low-fat ranch dip
1 Fruit (apple, pear, watermelon balls)
1/4 cup whole-grain crackers
Tip: Use a cookie cutter to cut fish shapes on bread.
Finger Food Lunch
String cheese and a handful of whole wheat crackers
1 cup broccoli florets with lemon
1/2 cup berries
Slice of banana bread
New PB&J Lunch
Peanut butter and jelly on a whole wheat mini bagel
3/4 cup cherry tomatoes with 2 tablespoons low-fat Caesar dressing
1/2 cup pineapple chunks
4 mini oatmeal cookies
Chicken and Avocado Wrap Lunch
1 tortilla flour with lettuce, tomato and carrot slices, shredded chicken and avocado.
½ cup sliced cucumbers with lime juice
1/2 cup grapes
2 cookies
Meatball and Vegetable Sandwich Lunch
1 small baguette bread with lettuce, tomato, sliced meatballs and cheddar cheese
½ cup sliced carrots with lime juice
1 apple
2 cookies
Waffle Ham and Apple Sandwich
2 regular waffles, which you will use as a sandwich top and bottom.
Lettuce, turkey ham, sliced green apple and cheddar cheese
Baby carrots with ranch dressing
½ cup melon balls
2 cookies
